Week 10
Project Prototype: Part 2
I have added more specific content to my project prototype. I specifically fleshed out the math portion of the website’s content. This section of the website is representative of what the entire website will look like. The language arts portion and 1st grade section will have very similar formats. While I did not include working links for additional online resources, I placed a marker to indicate that they will direct to future links. As I continue to make progress on this project, I will explore more specific design ideas, such as color and text. I want to make this website as user friendly as possible so that parents can take full advantage of these resources. When I am finished with the prototype, I will be asking the Kindergarten teachers to review it and gather their feedback through a survey. The feedback that I will seek from them will be related to the content as well as the website’s overall look and ease of use.

Kristina, your prototype looks solid. It looks like you will be putting a lot of information in there–good. What are you going to use to actually create the website? Just curious. Good job!

Hey Kristina
I took a look at your update – looks good. I don’t remember reading how you are going to take it to the web (like Mark’s comment). Your presentation just begs of a Dreamweaver application (or one like it). If you wanted to use web pages – that would be a whole bunch of pages that you would have to author and maintain a measure of uniformity. DW makes that simple and quick with a template that you create with editable regions and linked child pages born from the template. A program like DW or others (I think Chris mentioned CMS) would really cut down your work load.
Great work!

I viewed your power point as well. I think it looks great! Your design meets the needs of your audience. Information is easy to find and expectations are clear. The attention you paid to detail in the power point is going to pay off for you when you start developing your website!
